You already know that there is a virtually unlimited number of apps available for your smartphone. The real question is; which apps are actually worth your time? It’s not an easy question to answer, since you’ll value some apps over others. However, there are a few apps that are enormously popular, highly rated, or are favourites amongst specific groups.
TikTok
If you haven’t heard of TikTok you’ve probably been living under a rock. TikTok is the most popular app in the world by a long shot, topping the charts in the United States, United Kingdom, and China. It’s the video platform that allows users to quickly upload short videos, no more than a few seconds long. There is nothing to be gained but quick snippets of entertainment, which is what most phone users are looking for these days. It may not be your cup of tea, given that the majority of videos are just senseless gags, but don’t knock it before you’ve tried it.
Instead of uploading short videos, you can upload a few photos instead. Instagram is a photo-sharing app that is pretty much what you expect, letting you check out posts from various celebrities and other public figures. Or, of course, you can share a few pics and gather up a following of your own. Instagram is enormously popular, but you’ll have to look elsewhere for more complex forms of entertainment. If you’re looking for a bit more action, you’ll want to explore the sports betting NZ loves instead.
WhatsApp/Facebook
Depending on where you are in the world, WhatsApp or Facebook are in the number 3 popularity spot. WhatsApp is a free messaging service, allowing you to easily chat with contacts. Photos and short videos can also be shared, though only with limited quality. As far as text chatting goes, it doesn’t get much better than WhatsApp.
Facebook needs no introduction, given that half the population of the world has used it at some point. Make posts, share photos, chat with friends and play a few games. Facebook isn’t as popular as it once was, but chances are you still make use of it occasionally.
Subway Surfers
Would you guess that a little game called Subway Surfers is amongst the most popular in the world? The idea is simple; keep the character running through the subway, guiding them along to avoid obstacles. It’s an extremely accessible game, it works on just about any device and is far more fun than it has any right to be. If you haven’t tried it out, give it a go. You might just find you love it.
Google Maps
Last is, to the surprise of none, Google Maps. There was once a time when you’d have to break out an old-fashioned map book to get anywhere, but thank goodness for modern technology. Google Maps is the most useful app on this list by a longshot, helping you get where you need to go in no time at all. If you don’t already have Google Maps you probably spend a lot of time lost.
